March with the Penguins is an interactive and educational event where families follow the journey of the emperor penguins at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum in Champaign, IL. I worked with museum staff members to create an informative and illustrative drawing of the event. The illustration serves as both a promotional piece and also as a playful map detailing the various stages of the Penguins’ journey which includes hatching their eggs, raising their young, and gathering food in the cold Antarctic environment. The event was based in part on the National Geographic documentary, March of the Penguins.
Process work involved communicating with museum staff and developing an illustrative map based on their floor plan for the event.
